TexSun Randonneurs

Information and Resources

Randonneurs USA maintains an informative list of frequently asked questions, together with a helpful glossary of randonneuring terms.  If you’re curious about the sport, they’re a great place to start.

TexSun Randonneurs seeks to promote randonneuring in the Rio Grande Valley and points beyond in south Texas.  Rides hosted by TexSun Randonneurs are open to members and non-members alike.  There are no dues to join.  We simply ask that you come out, ride, and have a great time.

What to expect:  At the start of each ride, you will sign a written registration sheet and liability waiver before receiving your brevet card and cue sheet.  During the ride, you will have your brevet card signed at various control points along the route, establishing that you arrived at each control, and when.  Control points typically are located at roadside stores, making it convenient to grab something to eat or drink and replenish your supplies before heading on to the next control.  And while each brevet is subject to a time limit, there is no need to rush, as the time limits are generous.  The goal of each brevet is to finish, and each ride is against the clock, not fellow riders.

In 2010, TexSun Randonneurs will offer early-season 200 km and 300 km brevets in January and February.  Additional rides may be offered in later months.
